Hermitage Paradis 1876

Grande Champagne Cognac

Distilled from Folle Blanche grapes in the hills of Lignières-Sonneville in Grande Champagne, this cognac was aged for approximately seventy years in oak cask. Produced using small stills, often operated by travelling distillers, and left completely unreduced, it is a spirit of real depth and complexity that speaks of another era entirely. The porous Cognacian chalk of the region allows vine roots to penetrate deeply, contributing to the concentration and structure found in this exceptional nineteenth century cognac.

Vol:    70cl

Abv:  40.5%

Aroma:  Dried fig, nutmeg, sandalwood, saffron, hay and orange zest.

Flavour:  Madeira wine, roasted chestnut, biscuits, cloves, star anise, honey and dried mandarin peel. The rancio here is extraordinary – deep, layered and unmistakably old.
